Profile
Founded in April 1994, The Drake Group
is an Austin, Texas-based firm with international expertise. We
focus on medical device marketing—specialized surgical devices—particularly
those in emerging markets for minimally invasive therapies. The
Drake Group authors extensive market segment reports, customized
market research, creative medical copywriting for marketing communications
and writes columns in a variety of publications. The majority of
our clients hire us to do a strategic analysis of their product
versus the competitors’. Healthcare provider interviews—surgeons,
radiologists, anesthesiologists and nurses are our specialty.
Purpose
TDG is the outsource option for your medical marketing
projects. Our work is the best quality in the shortest possible
time.
Outsource marketing overload
to a seasoned professional.
Examples:
- Strategic analysis of product position
- Market plans for new products
- Market research with physician interviews, statistical
analysis
and interpretation.
- Medical device website content.
Established
firms experience periods of marketing overload. Quarterly targets
still have to be met. TDG assists these firms’ marketers by
assuming responsibility for both small (Directions for Use) and
large (Marketing Plan) outsourced projects. No project is too small
and very few are too big.
Development stage firms need documentation to raise capital. TDG
completes custom consulting reports, business plans and private
placement documents. These include market analysis, competitive
product evaluation and forecasts of potential procedures and revenues.
One development stage client had an idea for a new approach for
transmyocardial laser revascularization. The assignment: determine
the surgical viability of their concept and predict success while
writing a business plan. Leading surgeons were approached and interviewed.
The plan was completed on time and on budget.
Startup companies need seasoned medical marketers, but are not yet
ready to employ someone full time. The Drake Group fills this need
on an hourly or retainer basis. A startup company needed a knowledgeable
marketer to coordinate inventory forecasts, brochures, set product
component decisions and sales training. All to be in place in four
weeks. Deadlines were met.
